Ett tryggt och säkert Scandic

I dagarna rullar Scandic ut sin nya webbaserade säkerhetsutbildning till alla anställda runtom i Norden och norra Europa.

Inom Scandic har man en lång tradition av att satsa på medarbetarnas individuella utveckling. För att stärka sitt utbildningsprogram ytterligare såg man ett behov av att ta fram en ny webbaserad utbildning om säkerhetsarbetet inom organisationen.

One Day fick uppdraget att ta fram den nya säkerhetsutbildningen. Utbildningen vänder sig till samtliga anställda inom Scandic, sammanlagt cirka 13 000 personer, och finns på sju språk. Ett av lärmålen är att medarbetaren ska förstå sin roll och funktion i det dagliga säkerhetsarbetet.

Att veta hur du som medarbetare ska agera i olika situationer som kan uppstå på ett hotell, skapar trygghet för både gäster och övriga medarbetare. Därför lades stor vikt vid att ta fram verklighetsnära scenarier där kursdeltagaren får pröva att agera i olika situationer och får direkt feedback. Övningarna förstärktes med situationsanpassade foton.

Sedan tidigare har One Day ett samarbete med Scandic som resulterat i flera webbutbildningar, däribland en hållbarhetsutbildning.

WideNarrow arbetar med Competitive Intelligence och erbjuder bland annat systemlösningen Perspective som integrerar olika funktioner, såsom bevakning och analys, för en optimerad informationsförsörjning.

Hur tar man fram ett gränssnitt som känns mer som en applikation än en webbplats? Med detta som utgångspunkt har One Day fått i uppdrag att ta fram ett en profil för systemlösningen Perspective. Målet är att skapa en stark identitet med tydligt släktskap till WideNarrows egna grafiska profil.

One Day har sedan tidigare ett etablerat samarbete med WideNarrow och därför är vi glada och stolta över att nu ha fått förtroendet att ta oss an utvecklingen av en ny applikationsidentitet.

I dagarna lanserade Scandic sin nya digitala hållbarhetsutbildning. Scandic deltog i arbetet med att ta fram och utveckla vår produkt Future first. Nu är de först ut att låta medarbetarna ta del av innehållet.

Snart kommer också Spendrups att köra igång Future first, och vi är mitt i produktionen av KTHs version av utbildningen.

Ung företagsamhet väljer One Day

E-learning i företagsekonomi för unga entreprenörer ersätter lektionstimmar.

Ung Företagsamhet utbildar gymnasieelever i entrepenörskap – på riktigt. Glädjande nog växer UF kraftigt och når hela tiden nya elevgrupper.

Nu har man tagit beslutet att utveckla en e-learning tillsammans med One Day. Ämnet är företagsekonomi. Det är en omfattande produktion, tänkt att ersätta 10-12 lektionstimmar. Målet är att öka elevernas förståelse för ekonomisk lönsamhet och affärsmannaskap i sitt företagande.

Vi är givetvis mycket stolta över att Ung Företagsamhet valt oss till det här uppdraget. Och vi är förväntansfulla inför kommande möten med unga entrepenörer.

(Svenska) Nestor lanserar ny webb

Under våren 2012 utvecklade Nestor FoU-center en ny webbstrategi med syfte att göra den digitala kommunikationen mer målgruppsanpassad. Den nya webbplatsen stödjer den digitala strategin genom att erbjuda lättillgänglig kunskap och information till de som jobbar med äldre. Tips på hur kunskapen kan implementeras i verksamheten erbjuds också. Därmed går Nestor från att berätta vad de gjort till att inspirera användarna till förändring.

På den nya webbplatsen är det lättare att hitta det Nestor erbjuder. Den innehåller artiklar, publikationer, utbildningar och nätverk inom Nestors olika kunskapsområden, till exempel demens, med tydliga kopplingar däremellan.

Webbplatsen har även en blogg, där anställda skriver om frågor som de är engagerade i. Bloggen ger Nestor ett mer direkt tilltal som alternativ till kunskap och beskrivande artiklar. Webbplatsen är ett resultat av ett större strategiarbete som resulterade i en förnyad kommunikationsprofil, grafisk profil, kommunikativ plan för nyhetsbrev och riktlinjer för hur Nestor ska uttrycka sig i skriftlig kommunikation. Digital strategy for Nestor FoU-center

One Day has developed a digital strategy for Nestor FoU-center, active within elderly care.


During the spring of 2012 One Day was entrusted with the development of a digital strategy for Nestor’s external communication in cooperation with Nestor. The assignment was carried out in close cooperation with Christer Svenson, who was responsible for tonality and name issues. The project will be succeeded by the development of the graphic profile as well as the design of a website and news letter.

The purpose is to increase the possibilities to spread the message to the right target groups. The project means Nestor invests in communication by engaging its target groups in its business and by establishing an on-going dialogue with managers and business developers.

Nestor FoU-center runs a successful business that contributes to a better knowledge about health care for elderly people. This has made them to a much appreciated partner to those involved in elderly care.

SRSA signs agreement with One Day

Development and production of online courses for Swedish Radiation Safety Authority.

Facing tough competition ONE DAY Interact reached the highest ranking in the general agreement procurement for the “development and production of online courses” for Swedish Radiation Safety Authority. The agreement runs for four years and covers the development and production of a number of online courses to be launched both internally and externally. In some of the projects the general public is one of the target groups.

The first project is about developing a web training about electromagnetic radiation.

ONE DAY Interact proudly present our new web strategist Albert Lannerstad.

Hi! Albert, and welcome to One Day. Tell us a bit about yourself, please.
I am something of a bon vivant; I enjoy good food, wine and especially Calvados. I have a collection that doesn’t really get any bigger since I keep drinking from it. Career-wise I started work at a hotel as young as 14. The job enabled me to develop my social skills as I met a variety of people. I also possess a drive to develop and take things to the next level. This led to the opportunity to run hotels in Kalmar, Gothenburg and Stockholm.

What did you do before you joined us?
I was CEO and web strategist at Impera Webbkommunikation. That’s a web design agency with a staff of twenty and clientele mainly within the travel industry. Through lectures and education I helped companies with their strategies for web communication and social media.

What will you be working with at One Day?
I will be helping our customers to create and design their digital presence, i.e. I will give advice on how to establish relations, strengthen brand identity and sell by using the web and social media.

If you could choose which company to work with, which would you pick?
Definitely SJ (Swedish State Railways). They face many challenges and yet have the tendency of blaming others. They could use web communication and social media proactively to turn the situation around. Offer a customer service such as a winter emergency or an around the clock service that helps people find alternative means of transport. And capture the ideas of customers and show more appreciation for them.

John is a first-year student at Medieinstitutet where he is studying “Web training producer” for Blended Learning. John will do an 8-week internship at One Day.

Hi John! Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m 42 years old living in Stockholm with my fiancée and two children. I grew up in Lidingö, an island in the city of Stockholm. I compose music whenever I get the chance. I’m also interested in movies and games. I often play computer games, well all kinds of games really. During summertime I enjoy playing football with some other football enthusiasts.

What were you doing before you began to study at Medieinstitutet?
 For many years I was working at Käppala School as a resource teacher for children with special needs. My focus was technical aids. I was involved in instructing the teachers in implementing adaptive technology in their teaching, for example text to speech, spelling aid, math games and programs for memory training. Moreover, I have always worked close to special education teachers. I have also worked as a music teacher and in anti-bullying projects, according to the school’s own plan.

What are you going to do during your internship at One Day?
This is my first internship so it’s primarily about seeing and learning. But I will contribute in whatever way I can. For example, I will be reviewing various web training productions, both completed and ongoing. I will also be involved in script work, bouncing ideas off with the script writer and so forth. It will be very exciting to be involved in a concept meeting in the initial phase of a training project.

What would you like to work with after graduation?
I do not really know yet. I am becoming more and more interested in script writing. But I am interested in every aspect of the production of web training. Also, at ONE DAY I will gain insight into graphic design, which is going to be really exciting.

LO relaunches web training

Web-based training and exercises to increase awareness of the Unemployment Fund.

LO (The Swedish Trade Union Confederation) saw a need to further support the elected officials in the mission to explain to members how the current unemployment insurance works. The e-learning course was originally developed in 2009 and has now been enhanced with new text and exercises.

The major enhancement is the exercise “What would you get?” where you can find out how much compensation you would get if you become unemployed. Find out more here!

ONE DAY Interact proudly present our new Art Director Lotta Wahlgren.

Hi Lotta! Tell us more about yourself.
I’m a bit of a hobby craftswoman, and I really enjoy working with my hands to get inspired and to charge my batteries. I’ve done silversmithing and pottery, and at the moment I am renovating a cottage. Since my current activities are all very visual, the ultimate challenge would be to write a book.

What did you do before you joined One Day?
Previously I worked both as designer and illustrator. At ICA’s in-house agency I worked as a food stylist. For a while was as a free-lance designer at a gaming company working together with some of the real players in the industry. My last employment was at MRM Starsky, part of Storåkers McCann, where I worked with digital design.

What will you be working with at One Day?
I am going to work as Art Director responsible for the visual concepts of projects and I will lead creative processes with focus on identity within web and web-based education. I will also be a coach and sounding board to our designers and carry responsibility for projects’ creative standards.

What inspires you as AD? How do you work?
Methodology and systematics are much more important than one might think. I believe in order and structure before creativity. Today I am able to identify the different phases in the creativity curve and I have learned how to use them most effectively. Some sources of inspiration are packaging design, well thought out graphic company profiles and very productive artists and designers who know how to vary their expressions almost infinitely.

e-learning course for nurses employed within senior psychiatry, and ”Ask Nestor”, a digital tool for coaching.

One Day strenghtens the team with a writer and editor for interactive digital media.

Hi Anders! Tell us a bit about yourself.
I grew up in Congo Brazzaville where my parents were working. I have had the privilege to get acquainted with various cultures and different ways of thinking and being. I take a great interest in photography and I love to portray people and nature themes. Once upon a time I sang tenor in a gospel choir. I’d very much like to take that up again. When the season allows I like to go sailing or skating.

What did you do before you joined us?
My background is in teaching and I have ten years of experience teaching mathematics and natural sciences. I have also worked as technical information officer at Scania, I was an editor at Liber och Bonnier Läromedel and I was a script producer for e-learning.

What are you going to work with at One Day?
At One Day I am going to work as writer and interactive editor for digital media. I feel very excited to be working with e-learning in an educational way. The prospect of creating ideal learning conditions by combining text, images, video, audio and interactivity is something I am looking forward to.

If you could choose a company to work with, which company would you pick and why?
It would be great to be able to work with the Swedish Energy Agency’s information to the general public. To make the information more entertaining and easier to understand and to really use the possibilities e-learning has to offer. I believe that my experience with education to adolescents will come in handy. Teaching teenagers is a very good way to learn how to be clear and how to generate interest.

Nominated for Golden mobile

CallControll was nominated in the category best new mobile service of the year 2011.

For the 11th consecutive year the magazines Mobil and Mobil:business hosted the Mobile gala on the tenth of November 2011. During the event the best new products and services within the mobile business were awarded with the Golden mobile.

The nomination made us especially pleased since we, in collaboration with CallControll’s developer Aurora Innovation, developed and created CallControll’s design and interface. Read more in our reference case.

TeleQ is an answering system that automatically books a time for return calls. This service replaces the telephone queue and allows customers to choose the time for the return call suitable to both company and client.

Today a majority of Swedish companies with high demand for accessibility use TeleQ. TeleQ has been especially successful within health care.

We didn’t just want to reinvigorate our existing website but to create an entirely new website altogether. We did so by developing and reshaping its content and designing a new look.

This website reflects who we, what we stand for and the things we get inspired by in a transparent way. We quite simply wanted to dress our new website in our own clothes.

Enforced by a heart and mind

Today we welcomed Brit den Biggelaar, our new strategic project manager and coordinator, on board.

Hi Brit, and welcome to One Day. Tell us more about yourself, please.
I lived in Spain, the Netherlands and the UK for a period of almost 12 years. I’ve seen both poverty and riches, and had the privilege of meeting fantastic people. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my time abroad is the realisation that I love new challenges and learning new things.

What did you work with before you joined One Day?
I have worked as project manager within communication and IT at, amongst others, KLM and Vattenfall since 1997. My previous employment was at Enköping’s municipality where I was responsible for projects within communication and IT. We worked with strategies for social media, built a new intranet and implemented plain language.

What will be your role at One Day?
Here at ONE DAY I will be working as strategic project manager. This means I am going to manage projects and processes, and support projects with a view to become more effective. An important part of my work will consist of increasing projects’ profitability. I’ll be working closely together with our customers in order to understand how to support them the best possible way.

If you got to pick a company to work with, which one would you choose and why?
Ryanair. It is one thing to have a low-budget strategy, but it shouldn’t mean economising on your performance the way they do. I would like to rebrand the company from scratch, from their graphic profile, their uniforms, their customer service to communication and all the processes related to travelling. As it is now, one tends to feel embarrassed flying Ryanair. But it shouldn’t be like that. You should feel savvy about it!

    Pricing district heating in Sweden is today regarded as unwieldy, erratic and sometimes arbitrary. Property managers Riksbyggen, housing company SABO and the trade organization for district heating – Svensk fjärrvärme, all wanted to strengthen the customers’ voice and at the same time contribute to a fair and predictable price change of district heating. This resulted in a model for dialogue between customers and district heating companies – Price dialogue.

    A website with clear visual identity and a high educational level was a tool to inform and highlight the benefits of Price Dialogue. The site was also a way to create legitimacy for Price Dialogue with stakeholders and decision makers.

    One important objective was to explain pedagogical ideas behind Price Dialogue and how it actually works. An interactive flowchart with explanatory texts allow visitors to get the big picture but also to understand the details of processes from the different stakeholders perspectives. The users should feel that Price Dialogue is a evaluated, safe and reliable system.

    Digital registrations and other advantages

    SABO, the Swedish Association of Municipal Housing Companies, is an industry and interest organisation for public housing companies. Prior to the biannual congress in May 2013, SABO saw the need for a new website which would make it easier for participants to register via the web. SABO also wanted the new website to provide information before, during and after the congress.

    In order to meet the the visitor’s requirements SABO wanted a website that would work equally well on mobile phones, tablets and computer, hence chose to make the website responsive. They needed a cross-platform solution that can make congress materials available to the visitor regardless of whether he or she is at the office or on a train. WordPress was chosen as the technical platform as it is both easy to use from an editor’s perspective and enables cost-effective development for future congresses. The main challenge was to prioritise and adapt the information flow and layout to different user situations. The new website has resulted in twofold benefits: For congress participants, it is now possible to sign up via the web and be able to get information concerning the congress. For SABO the digital notifications has enabled a significantly reduced workload, unlike in the past when each registration form was sent by mail and handled manually. Along with SABO ONE DAY Interact also worked with the design of the intranet, various web applications and the external website www.sabo.se.

    An identity for young and social entrepreneurs

    How to create an identity that attracts new, young and social entrepreneurs in Sweden? Fryshuset’s Entrepreneurial Project turned to One Day to create a name, graphic profile and website prior to launching its new activity.

    Fryshuset’s activities focus on the labour market, education, social projects and related passionate interests. It puts its heart and soul in boosting young people’s interests, creativity and potential. Fryshuset’s entrepreneurial project was launched with the purpose of reaching out to enterprising young people and inspiring them to realize their ideas with the help of knowledge, networking and coaching.

    Collaboration with Fryshuset Inc consisted of establishing a name, graphic profile and website. This resulted in a strong profile based on the international business term Inc (Incorporated). Its logotype consists of building blocks representing the creative and structured entrepreneurial process that is carried out step by step. The logotype’s building blocks also encourage play with design and animation.

    The call for structure, social ties and an appealing look were the guiding lines in the design of Inc’s website. The result is a professional yet playful design in magazine format. The website boasts a membership feature, support for news feeds, twitter feeds, an activity calendar, file sharing and links to both Linked In and Facebook.
